Isabella D’Anella-Mercanti

Isabella D'Anella-Mercanti (she/her) holds teaching certifications in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Isabella completed her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with a Montessori Credential from Chestnut Hill College. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with a dual minor in Urban and Childhood Studies from Rutgers University - Camden. Isabella holds a Pennsylvania Teaching Pre-K to 4th grade certification, and a Pennsylvania Certification in English, grades 6th to 12th. As a young child, Isabella attended Montessori preschool in Philadelphia. Isabella’s most rewarding moments in the classroom happen when the child begins to advocate for themselves. “At the start, children ask an adult for help. But after some time, you’ll see the child begin to negotiate situations - without an adult - for themselves and by themselves. This is when they begin to see themselves as powerful and this is the best part!”
